Hospitality and Tourism Program
2017-2018
Our students in Hospitality and Tourism Program are well into their internships at The Wolfeboro Inn. Twice a week our students are learning the hotel industry through hands on instruction in each department. We have begun in the housekeeping department, where students have learned about OSHA standards and chemical safety. While learning how to properly clean a guest room, lessons incorporating proper guest service techniques are weaved into the training.
Through our Hospitality and Tourism Program's Travelling Classroom, students have learned the ways our tourism economy affects local business. The Travelling Classroom has taken students on Molly the Trolley, The Chamber of Commerce and on Winnipesaukee Belle. Over the coming months, our students will travel to The Wright Museum and The Windrifter Resort as we continue to explore our local hospitality and tourism industry. On November 1st the Travelling Classroom comes to us as we welcome the Executive Director of the Lakes Region Tourism Association, Anne Landers as a guest speaker.
The Lakes Region Hospitality and Tourism Program is pleased to be a part of DECA and recently attended The Annual DECA Fall Leadership Conference at Southern New Hampshire University
